In 1948 AMOT (USA) began operating in Richmond, California with the invention of the industrial thermostatic valve developed for the marine industry. Today the AMOT thermostatic valve family is the accepted standard in various industrial applications around the world. In 2007 the AMOT Group expanded with the acquisition of Roda Deaco Valve Company, of Edmonton, Canada and again in 2008 with the acquisition of Chalwyn Ltd. of Poole, Dorset UK. With the addition of these two product lines and the expertise acquired, AMOT is the leading manufacturer of emergency diesel engine shut down systems in the world.
